Armando’s Ristorante in Winter Park carries serious reputation, and walking in, expectations were high. The chicken parmesan arrives looking the part—golden, saucy, and generously topped with melted mozzarella over a bed of well-cooked spaghetti. The marinara tastes homemade with solid depth and balance, and the pasta does exactly what it should. But the star of the dish—the chicken—misses the mark. It’s noticeably tough, and at $22.95 in this location, that’s hard to overlook. When the cutlet isn’t tender, the entire plate suffers. Armando’s nails the ambiance and sauce, but this parm doesn’t quite live up to the hype. Not a disaster—just not the standout hoped for.
